Memorial Day weekend is what I (Elyse) like to consider the first big kickoff to summer. Unfortunately the weather here isn't always ideal, but the weekend still provides the time for great getaways, picnics, family gatherings and for me an annual tennis tournament! I love this photo from LIFE magazine featuring Suzanne Lenglen who in 1922 changed the world of tennis fashion for years to come. She made the transition from wearing tennis dresses down to a women's ankle to one of knee high length. I can only imagine how much more mobility this provided!
