Couple of the Month: Stephanie and Mike

We love Stephanie and Mike! They are such a fun couple and we are loving helping them plan their July wedding! Keep reading to find out more about this awesome couple! Don't forget to read their proposal story, so cute! Thanks to Green Door Photography for the fabulous photos!

How did you meet?
Mike and I met at a mutual friend's cabin at Flathead Lake, MT over the fourth of July weekend in 2009. We got to know each other over a memorable weekend of playing on the lake, watching fireworks, bowling (our favorite pastime!) and hanging out with great friends. We look back on that wonderful weekend very fondly!

How did he propose?
I had planned on proposing to Steph on her birthday, but her ring was burning a hole in my pocket.  I came home after work and she had her hair done and was looking especially gorgeous.  I then decided in my head that was going to be the evening that I proposed to Steph.  I quickly ran through the options on my mind and settled on the best one...  I told her that I had to work over the weekend (of her birthday) so we should do some celebrating tonight in case we don't get the opportunity due to work.  I told her it was going to be a suprise though, so she had to wear a blindfold. I also made sure to grab an ipod, and set it so the song "Touch Me" by The Doors would the first to play.

We got into the car, I put the blindfold on her, and off we went.  I drove towards Portland from our house (I figured that she could guess where we were going by the turns that I took and how the route felt since she couldn't see).  I then turned around on the I-5 and headed back towards Vancouver - this threw her off the trail, she no longer knew where we were.  On the way back up we got stopped on the draw bridge because a ferry was passing!

Thank God she was a good sport - Steph kept the blindfold on the entire time while we had to wait on the drawbridge (keep in mind she didn't know where on earth we were).  Once traffic finally resumed motion I continued my serpentine route to our destination on the north beach of the Columbia River, a place called Wintler Park.  Nobody was around when we pulled down, it was perfect.  I parked the car, I had her put on the ipod (the music was mainly to drown out the noise of the river), and I guided her from the car down to a landing that stepped off onto the sand beach.

I wrote "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" in the sand, and pulled on her blindfold.  She yelled back "What, can I take it off?" (because the music was blaring).  As she pulled down the blindfold, she tore out the ipod and told me YES!  We hugged and shook and reveled in the rapture of our wonderful moment.  She told me the most important answer to any question I will ever ask.

Where do you live currently?
We are currently living in Vancouver, WA, but moving to Portland, OR at the end of the month.

Do you have any pets?
No pets as of now.

A fun fact about you as a couple or as individuals!
We love playing board games together. Our favorites are Qwirkle, Banana Grams and Scrabble!

See, told ya so, ADORABLE!
